The Performance Center was created as a modern theatre and recital hall to serve many artistic purposes. It contains the Joseph Page Theatre, the Figliulo Recital Hall, a Blackbox Theatre for smaller productions and practice space, dressing rooms, property storage areas and a scene design and construction shop. The Performance Center’s lobby contains three murals created by renowned fresco artist, Mark Balma, completed in the original style of Italian Renaissance fresco artists. The centerpiece of the murals, The Mediatrix, faces all entering the Performance Center, honoring Mary, the patroness of the university. It is the first of its kind in Southeastern Minnesota.
Saint Yon's Hall
Constructed as an additional house of formation for the De La Salle Christian Brothers on a lower portion of the campus, the university acquired Saint Yon’s Hall in 1986 and it today serves as a residence hall and the center for the academic music facilities.
Chapel of Saint Mary of the Angels
The Chapel of Saint Mary of the Angels originally served as the campus chapel for the College of Saint Teresa, and is still in use as a liturgical space for Cotter High School. It has become the home of the Saint Mary’s University Choral Ensembles, hosting Lessons and Carols in December and the annual Spring Concert each April. Its interior is decorated with various colors of imported marble, rich mosaics, stained glass windows, and a high, exposed wooden beam ceiling that contributes to the building’s excellent acoustics.
